We are sitting in Marion, Illinois waiting for a trailer axle to be fixed. I casually glanced out the window and noticed this cool old cage or box.
Leo needed a walk, so we investigated and realized what it really was . . .
An old jail cell.
The drop down bunk was the give away.
The guys in the shop said their boss collects weird old stuff.
The story on this is that it was part of the original county jail. Maybe late 19th or early 20th century.
Notice the wheels on it. I guess they could have bern rolled into any configuration that might have been needed.
We see such interesting sights out here on the road.
I guess this sort of sighting is what keeps each day fresh and new.
